Over the last few years, every time a Disney On Ice show has come to town, we’ve attended. I worried that perhaps the kids are getting to the age where they won’t enjoy the show as much, but I needn’t have worried. The magic of Disney cast it’s spell over us again last night and from the moment the soldiers from Toy Story made their appearance on the ice, we were mesmerized.
Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove spans 50 years of Disney animated film – starting from the inaugural Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the 50th film, Tangled. The audience was taken on a magical journey of Disney animated films with hosts Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck.
The Lion King was popular with the crowd. The sets and special effects were fantastic and the stampede of wildebeest was absolutely enthralling. The younger ones were especially pleased when the Disney princesses made their appearance on the ice – when Mickey introduced Rapunzel to the ice, the excited squeals were contagious!
If you have the opportunity to take your kiddies along to watch Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove, don’t hesitate. It is a truly wonderful show.
