Lavender Bloom

Lavender's blue, dilly dilly,
Lavender's green.

When you are king, dilly dilly,
I shall be queen.

- Old English Nursery Rhyme

The lavender bushes are in full bloom. I love the scent of lavender, though I know it's not to everyone's taste.

So tell me, lavender, yay or nay?

  1. Lavender is beautiful to look at, but the smell is too much for my sensitive little nose.

  5. Its so lovely to brush your hand against the plant as you pass by and this old english levender you show here, is a frilly, feminine variety of the species. Fab shot of it too : )

  10. Yay.Spritz a mist of lavender on your pillow and sleep like a baby. Fussy baby? Spritz on your shoulder and rock baby with head on your shoulder and peace for quiet. Cut sprigs and tie pretty ribbon around it then tie on bedpost.

  13. Just discovered your blog and am a fan. This post brought me back to 10 years old and living in England. Wow! Thanks for the memory! I'll be trying some of the small crafts as soon as I finish unpacking my stash. Moved in May. Still working on it.
