My Creative Space - Applique

My Creative Space has been centered around appliqué this past week. I'm practicing needle turn appliqué. Like anything else really, the more you practice, the better you get - right? Well that's the theory.

Needle Turn Applique is a technique which I am enjoying immensely. I keep the project in a zip lock bag with my little needle case, embroidery scissors and a few different coloured bobbins of thread.

This little quilt project is called Spring by Sarah Fielke. It's a perfect little "on-the-go" project for when I have a few spare minutes during school pickup or when the kids are at after school activities (ie ballet or karate lessons).

What's happening in your Creative Space this week?

  3. Great project. Have you tried "Superior Threads" colour no 619 ...... blends with almost any colour and beats carrying around multiple threads :o)

  6. I love needle turn appliqué but it's been a while since I've done any!

I'd really like my creative space to be full of English paper piecing out in this beautiful autumn sunshine but it's more likely to be making binding and attaching it -- well that's today anyway. If there's time tonight (after yet another visit to the "renovator's delight" I might do some knitting on Emily's blanket.
