Jane Austen was an English novelist. Her works of beautifully romantic fiction earned her a place as one of the mostly wide read writers in English Literature. Jane Austen passed away at the age of 42 and it seems that the cause of her death still remains unconfirmed.
Jane Austen's timeless classics Emma, Northanger Abbey & Mansfield Park, are exquisitely brought to life (thanks to ITV) in these three lavish and faithful movie adaptations.
EMMA - Kate Beckinsale is Emma Woodhouse, the beautiful, rich, clever and infuriating heroine who likes nothing better than arranging the love lives of other people; often with comic and disastrous results. This classic Emmy Award-winning romantic comedy also features Mark Strong and Samantha Morton.
NORTHANGER ABBEY - Adapted by one of Britains most popular dramatists, Andrew Davies, this sumptuous romance stars Felicity Jones and Carey Mulligan. Catherine Moreland, a spirited young beauty enters into Bath society where she attracts the attention of two men but Catherine's overzealous imagination jeopardises her already fragile social position.
MANSFIELD PARK - Billie Piper stars as Jane Austen's favourite heroine in this delicious tale of virtue and vice. Taken from her life of poverty, Fanny Price is brought up with her rich cousins at Mansfield Park. But the arrival of the glamorous Crawfords soon wreaks havoc on the rural tranquillity of the household.

DeleteI love Jane Austin and am so excited that my daughter is of an age where she is now loving Jane Austin too - something we can enjoy together. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteLets go 'out there' and have Hugh Jackmann in there (he's an Aussie, he would nail an English accent for sure!). I think he'd make a lovely Mr Darcy but my heart still favours Colin Firth in the role!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Russell Crowe as Mr Darcy, he seems to be able to play such a wide variety of characters. I would certainly not object to seeing Hugh Jackman though :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure who they would play but I would definitely watch Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Jackman, Martin Clunes and John Hannah. Although I love Jane Austen movies so anyone could be cast and I would still watch it!
ReplyDeleteWhile I really do love Colin Firth, I think Matthew MacFadyen and Kiera Knightley were fantastic together! I just noticed someone mentions Hugh Jackman....now that would be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI think Colin Firth was just perfect as Darcy... but perhaps Tom Hardy would make a good Edward Ferrars.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree that Colin Firth is Darcy to a tee.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway, Anorina. :D
