Keep Calm and Carry On

Samelia’s Mum is my third child. It was born in 2010 and I have fed it, nurtured it and watched it flourish and grow.

I used to surf the web, on my never ending search for beautiful and creative inspiration.

Back then my husband was away at work for days/weeks at a time (that hasn’t changed - he is still away for weeks at a time) and I had two young children to keep entertained – Sam was 3 years old and Amelia was 2 years old.

Blog surfing was my escape. My guilty little pleasure. I could tuck the kids into bed and spend hours going from one blog to the next. I would read about the daily lives of people I would never speak to, never meet, across the other side of the world.

Blogs taught me to sew. Blogs taught me to quilt. I decided that perhaps I could start my own little space online. Maybe someone would like to see my latest creation?

I went to blogger.com and created my blog. My early posts were very few and far between. I wasn’t sure what to do, where Samelia’s Mum was headed or where it would lead me.

Talent Blogger Badge

Today, I joined a group of fabulous Australian bloggers in the Nuffnang Talent Blogger Program. These other 11 blogs are amazing and I have to admit that I feel slightly nervous about standing alongside such big names.

Pop on over and visit the other Nuffnang Talent Bloggers participating in the program:

Even though I’m super excited, I will (try to) keep calm and carry on blogging, crafting, cooking, sharing…

Samelia’s Mum will still remain a mainly family, parenting and craft based blog and I will continue to focus on my favourite types of posts – posts about my family, creative posts and tutorials.

It’s an exciting new era for Samelia’s Mum and I hope you will continue this amazing journey with me.
