How was your weekend?

It was a quiet weekend at my place. The kids slept of grandma's house one night while hubby and I had the chance to go out to dinner, which was nice. We rarely get to go out without the kids.

I received a bag of fabric from a friend whose grandmother passed away. Some of the fabrics aren't really my style, but I came across this little bundle of navy blue with pink flowers and loved. it. I must go through the bag and see what other treasures I may find in there.

A couple of pot holders with straight line random quiltied lines.

It was a cold afternoon. Very cold. So what better way to warm up the house than to turn on the oven and bake?? The kids and I made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and then some cupcakes with the left over chocolate icing. What's a cupcake without some sprinkles?

Last night was all about couch relaxation, catching up on my favourite shows (Masterchef and the Formula One racing).

A little bit of hand sewing in the evening... well about 3 hours of it. Sore hand today, but I love it.

I'd had this Dresden plate block sitting around and even though I've added some hand quilting, I'm still not sure what I'm going to make with it. Any suggestions?

How was your weekend? Did you get up to much craftiness?

  2. My weekend has been good. I can smell the cake and cup cakes. :)

Your Dresden block looks great. Try to stay warm, and I'll try to stay cool as it is scorching summer here.

    Have a great week!

    God bless and keep you,

  3. I also watched masterchef and F1 racing, until I was just too tired and went to bed at about lap 15.
I also sewed made my mug rug for the Christmas block swap July mug rug. I have to do a blog post and take some photos of it. I used this tutorial -
Thanks I can't wait top get my Donna Hay cakes. I've sent you an email with my mail address

  4. Looks like we may have done much the same as you...a bit of crafting, some baking and watching of Masterchef. Our school holidays have just begun, so we'll see how long the kids will be happy with quiet days at home :)

  5. I got some sewing done on Saturday but DD and family arrived late Saturday afternoon and left 26 hours later - so not as much sewing as I had planned!

It was good to spend time with the family - it was the first time Younger Grandson (2 weeks old) had visited us at home!

  6. Wonderful Dresden. I do like your pot holder nice and bright at least you will find them when you put them down.

  7. Looks like a beautiful way so spend a weekend. For some reason I am feeling the need to go and bake cupcakes.....
