"Whites" a BBC Comedy - Review & Giveaway

"Whites" is a new BBC comedy series cooked up by the UK’s funniest comedians. It is a kitchen based comedy and is served up by Universal Pictures.

www.bbc.co.uk
"Whites" combines the raw ingredients of hotel kitchen reality show with the UK’s finest humour to dramatise the otherwise hilarious moments in the chaotic and high-pressured world of restaurant catering, where tension regularly comes to the boil.

Throw in Roland White, a washed-up celebrity chef attempting to regain the Michelin Star rating he feels he deserves. We first meet him allowing his sous chef Bib to flounder in the hectic kitchen during evening service, while he casually dictates his autobiography inside his quiet office. Bib’s the long suffering best friend and sidekick who is starting to resent his friendship with Roland when constantly left to pick up the slack. Add in Skoose, a cocky, overly ambitious apprentice chef with his beady eye on Bib’s job and the result is a satisfying comedy that will leave you with an appetite for more! (The Narrative / Universal Pictures - media release)

Being a Brit, my hubby was looking forward to sitting down and watching this first series of "Whites" with me... and it didn't disappoint. It was typical British humour. Dry and understated - it left us wanting more. We both love to watch cooking shows, so watching the little jibes the show was taking at celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay was quite amusing.

  2. Gee there are so many that I like. One that I probably learned the most from is no longer on air that I know of. That is Sarah Moulton. (not sure of spelling)
I also love Nigella, and Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) - I would eat almost anything those two cook.

  3. I don't have just one favourite! I used to love watching Rick Stein ( and "Chalky" of course)! There are so many fab Aussie chefs too, like Matt Moran, but I really admire Jamie Oliver and how he is trying to re-educate kids (and their parents) about what foods are best for them! He is apparently having a hard time of it in the U.S.
