Happy Birthday to Mr Men & Little Miss - Review PLUS Giveaway

Do you remember Mr Men and Little Miss from your childhood? Did you read the Mr Men and Little Miss books when you were young?

If you're of a similar vintage to me, you'll remember these wonderful little books by British author and illustrator Roger Hargreaves.

It's been 40 years since Mr Tickle was born. It was 1971 when Roger Hargreaves' young son Adam, asked him what a tickle looked like. Mr Tickle managed to tickle his way into children's hearts and from there the Mr Men and Little Miss family grew.

To celebrate this milestone, Universal Pictures has re-released 10 of the original Mr Men and Little Miss stories on DVD, on 1st June.

Master S and Miss A have had the opportunity to review a couple of the DVD titles. I of course sat on the couch to watch the DVDs supervise the kids. They received the Mr Men and Little Miss series of books for Christmas, so watching the stories on the telly, was ultra exciting!

These are such wonderful DVDs for little ones. The stories are so innocent, sweet and thoroughly enjoyable. The Mr Men and Little Miss Characters have stood the test of time, simply because they depict human emotions and characteristics which are common to every culture in every language. Each story is quick, which is perfect for little ones, with short attention spans.

There are 10 single Mr Men and Little Miss titles available on DVD. Each DVD includes a collection of stories about various characters.

Classification: G (General)
Genre: Family
SRP Price: $9.95

With thanks to Universal Pictures, I have 2 of these wonderful DVD's to give away. If you'd like to win a copy, please leave me a comment telling me:

Who is your favourite Mr Men or Little Miss character?

For an extra entry, tweet about this giveaway (the link is at the bottom of the post) including @sameliasmum in the tweet.

This giveaway is open to anyone with an Australian address.

Giveaway closes Monday 6 June 2011.

Disclaimer: No monetary compensation was given for this review. I did, however, get to keep a copy of the DVD to review it. All opinions are my own of my family, where applicable.

  14. I am a Mr books purist - I don't care at all for the new wave of stories. Mr. Tickle terrified me as a child (the thought of that looooong arm coming 'round the sofa - eep!) and my sister loved Mr. Bump so I will choose him. :)
