Gnomeo & Juliet - Giveaway

Garden gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness? (written by Walt Disney Pictures)

After an early dinner and telling the kids to be good if they wanted a surprise, we traipsed off to the cinema to watch "Gnomeo and Juliet" ... an epic tale on a tiny scale. Thanks Disney and Kidspot Australia.

With our gigantic tub of popcorn and and enormous cup of lemonade, we went into the cinema. Adjusted our 3D glasses and were captivated by the story.

On a side note - they really need to make those 3D glasses in kids sizes. Poor little miss spent most of the time with them off because they kept falling off her nose.

The story is very cute and the soundtrack is FANTASTIC.  You don't have to like Elton John to appreciate all of the fantastic music and before you know it, you'll be singing along to "crocodile rock".

I loved the "Romeo and Juliet" film from the 60's (which we watched in our English class after reading the book) and I loved the Baz Luhrmann version in the 90's with Leo DiCaprio and I have to say, I loved this version of Shakespeare's tragic story too.

Even though it is animated, there are lot's of jokes for the adults in the crowd to have a giggle.

Now for the giveaway... If you'd like to win a double pass to see this film in 3D, just leave me a comment telling me which is your favourite Shakespearean play. If you don't have one... just make one up.

This is going to be a short giveaway so I will draw the winner tomorrow afternoon.

Australian residents only.

Please make sure you leave a way for me to contact you if you're the winner.

Good Luck and have a happy Friday.

    Karen :)

  2. I don;t really have a favourite but I did enjoy reading Twelfth Night at school. It was very cheeky and funny too!

  3. I really enjoyed "Much Ado About Nothing". I looked up a website with a list of Shakespeare movies, because I couldn't remember the name!
Did you know "10 Things I Hate About You" is based on "The Taming Of The Shrew"! I love that movie!

  4. I am not eligible, but I love Midsummer Night's Dream.

  5. Although i enjoyed a lot of Shakespeare's plays i'm going to choose Macbeth as my favourite.

  6. What about Hamlet?/ shouldn't it have been a story about a small pig???? LOL
I have never seen a 3D movie, am I really missing a good experience?

  7. A Midsummer Nights Dream is my favourite. Tracee xx

  8. I am not entering your giveaway, cause I am in Canada. However, to help with the glasses....I take a couple of elastics and loop them together, then loop one end around each arm of the glasses. This worked for my youngest. They stayed on her head the entire time.

  9. Romeo & Juliet - but only because I found Baz's film so easy to follow!

Thank you for your comment.
